Re: “Better Busing Battle

So let me get this straight. So STA wants to expand ridership on different routes when they keep cutting routes and riders elsewhere yet charge more taxes to expand when they are not servicing their current routes enough? Sounds like a typical STA plan, remodeling the downtown center instead of just adding more security. What could go wrong when they have to cut these new routes in a few more years but where do those taxes go? I hope Spokane citizens are not dumb enough to fall for it this time and increase their taxes once again.

Re: “SpokAnimal won't bite on the new SCRAPS facility

As a dog rescuer for the last 20 years please do NOT vote for SCRAPS to have a newer shelter. Why? It is the nicest shelter in this whole region. It maybe aging but it is the best one already so no need to upgrade this shelte and charge new taxes in this economy. And this shelter has been empty forn years when SCRAPS has put down perfectly healthy adoptable animals while not giving them enough time to find adoptive homes. If they are giving a larger shelter then they will end up putting down even MORE animals then they do already. SCRAPS already is a kill shelter andf if they take over animal control for the whole county then they will kill a larger number of animals. If SCRAPS would transfer out more and work more closely with all the rescuers in this county including ours plus work harder to offer more spaying and neutering options for coun ty residents then they would not have to kill as many animals as they kill right now. There is no need to raise any taxes when Spoknaimal will still offer animal control for the city. If we think city residents will drive to the Valley to take their unwanted animals instead of just turning them loose while not having to pay a surrender fee then we live in La La Land. Please support the shelters like Spokanimal that do work hard to transfer out animals before they are put down. Thanks, Margo Mossburg, Director of Dachshund Rescue NW and Dachshund Club of Spokane aince 1991 and over 700 wiener dogs placed.
