SEEN IN SPOKANE: 1985 on 10-10-10

Posted on Mon, Oct 11, 2010 at 10:29 AM

That’s right. Yesterday was the tenth day of the tenth month of the tenth year in this century. Very cool.

On a walk to the P.I. — with a towel on my neck and ready for two pints of beer — I saw this graffiti gem on the Cliff Drive bridge near Grove Street.

(For those of you who don’t get my extremely awesome reference: Yesterday’s date, 10-10-10 or 101010, is 42 in binary. Forty-two, according to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, is the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. The beer and towel, we learn in the book, are the most “massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” Fine, I’m a nerd. Read the book.)
