CITY HALL EYEBALL: Is someone sabotaging the library campaign?

Posted By on Wed, Jan 23, 2013 at 10:45 AM

On Monday, we wrote about the ambitious pro-library campaign seeking to raise taxes with a vote in the Feb. 12 special election. If approved, the vote would raise $1 million in revenue per year in Spokane and expand the hours of some of the city's smaller library branches. Today, it appears that campaign could be in trouble. As you see from the photo, a sign near the parking lot at South Washington and First Avenue has been torn down.

Note: There has never been sketchy activity around this intersection in the history of Spokane.

We can only assume something foul is afoot. But who's behind this tear-down effort? We don't know. But one politician certainly raises our suspicions:

Tear down some City Hall Eyeball here.
