Take a "Vacation" with the next Suds and Cinema

School is going to be out soon and you know there are idealist fathers up late with a map spread out across the kitchen table of a suburban home, penciling out a route up, down or across this great nation of ours — a trip meant to shore up the love of his wife and children. Or at least I assume people still do that.

And good for them for not being forever traumatized (albeit hilariously so) by the plot of National Lampoon's Vacation to the point that such a trip, regardless of destination, is never seriously contemplated.

Suds and Cinema fans know where this is going, of course. The next installment of our venerable beer-meets-movies series is, indeed, Vacation. We're bringing you the Griswold Family's odyssey to the fated Walley World to the Bing Crosby Theater on Wed., June 10 (6:30 pm beer, 7:30 movie) and we'd like you to be there. For those of you not so great with the calendar, that is next Wednesday.

Making their Suds debut is Steamplant Brewing Co., who will bring their Blond Ale and Highland Scottish Ale from just up the street to keep you satiated during the screening of this 1983 classic.

Come celebrate the unofficial beginning of summer (and the release of our annual Summer Guide issue) and enjoy perhaps the best road trip movie ever made. If you still think that drive with the kids to see grandma in Wisconsin is a smooth idea after watching this, well, we've got a Wagon Queen Family Truckster to sell ya.
