Service

Posted on Sat, Apr 7, 2012 at 8:23 AM

To the server/bartender who ruined what used to be my favorite place to go.
Was it you who wrote in complaining about your customers who actually want
service? The lifting of the glass, or wave, or whatever? You realize you
work in the service industry, right? By the very definition you should
understand that your job requires providing service. I watch you ignoring
people who do gesture to you while you are talking to your friends and
co-workers, you seem to thrive on the narcissism. BTW, that is a form of
the word narcissistic, which I've heard you use incorrectly almost every
time I've been within earshot of you. My friends and I bet beers on how
long it will be before you use the word, and sometime we bet on how often.
Do yourself, and everyone who patronizes your place of work, a favor; buy a
dictionary, look up the word service and learn it then look up
narcissistic, learn what it means and quit using it. Shut up and do your
job! In doing so you will have far fewer people trying to get your
attention because their glass has been empty for 20 minutes and this should
make you and everyone else much happier.
