You called him Charlie. You left him on a 3 foot chain tethered to a
doghouse in your back yard. You ripped his ingrown collar out when
SPOKANIMAL and the police rescued him and his sister (her collar was
surgically removed). I adopted Charlie from SPOKANIMAL. At first he was
fearful, cowered when pet, couldn't walk on a leash, chewed and chased his
hind leg. Survivor that he was. I renamed him Harvey Milk. He learned to
walk on a leash and loved to run free in my fenced yard. He fell in love
with Brown Dog (also rescued). Harvey became a loving, protective, smart,
happy and friendly dog, loved by many. He died this weekend of
complications from a massive stroke and seizures. He passed on peacefully,
surrounded by love and compassion. Thank you to the Medical Lake Veterinary
Clinic for their skill, kindness, care and concern, and to Family Pet
Memorial and cremation. Cheers Harvey Milk, you were a great dog.
