Jeers, to the City of Spokane and the new Lowes store being built on east
Lyons in North Spokane, for patching the worst road in Spokane rather than
repaving the entire one-block mess. The new store will cause a tremendous
increase in traffic on that small bit of crumbling road, as well as an
increase in rate of deterioration from the weight of loaded trucks. It will
be business as usual this winter navigating the slalom course of potholes;
that's a given. Only now, there will be the added challenge of dodging
trucks, other cars and customers as well. Another example of a corporation
socializing its costs, while keeping its profits private.
