Saturday brought rain and thunder. Sunday brought dizzying sun and afternoon heat in the 90s. But the temperamental weather couldn’t scare the 7,000 Hoopfest teams or their fans off the streets of downtown Spokane, because the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world is about clever team names and matching T-shirts and sunscreen right up until the game starts, and then it’s just about basketball. And before the sunburns had even started to fade, diehard participants and the Hoopfest website had already restarted the countdown for next year: 363 days, 362 days, 361 days…
