Sweet bamboo bike!

It can be hard enough for proponents of Bike to Work Week (which begins in Spokane on Sunday) to get newbies to dust off their old Nishikis and get out there among the boutique-bike hipsters and the carbon-clad racers. It doesn't help when you've got dudes like this out there, making the noobs feel like they don't deserve to be out there unless they can build their own ten-speed from bamboo. 

Of course, at the same time, it is pretty frickin' cool...
