A couple of local bands — punk band Ze Krau (one of The Inlander's 2010 Bands to Watch) and experimental rockers Belt of Vapor — are highlighted in an upcoming documentary and book called 40 Nights of Rock and Roll, about the current state of rock n' roll across the nation. The filmmakers, Scott Sloan and Steve LaBate (who has written for The Inlander's music section), set out on a quest to document forty straight nights of live rock music in forty different cities.
They started on May 1 in Albany, New York, stopping here and there along the way until they made it to Spokane (day 30). Ze Krau and Belt of Vapor played a fans-only, private show. Below is the filmmakers' video of their experience here. (Platform Booking promoter Patrick Kendrick and I make brief appearances.)
