Meandering away from the spiritual kookiness of Seven Seals, ex-Spokanite James Pants revives the dancey, poppy, carefree sound of his first album, Welcome, on a new EP released yesterday. New Tropical, a record of six tracks, shows Pants' uncanny knack for beats and his ability to mash together strange sounds and, somehow, mold them into dance floor-ready songs. You can pick and choose which mp3s you want to buy on Stones Throw's website — but come on, support the Pants man and buy the vinyl for $8.99.
