We're Winners!

The 2010 AltWeekly Awards were announced today in Toronto (the big one, in Canada not like Toronto, South Dakota) and The Inlander kinda kicked ass, taking home three first-place wins and two second-place wins in the Under 50,000 Circulation category.

1st Place Short News

"Regime Change," "Fighting Fire" and "The Association" by Nicholas Deshais looked into drama at City Hall, sprinklers in your favorite clubs and the comparative business practices of pot dispensaries.

1st Place Music Reporting/Criticism

"Backtrack," "Past Lives" and "The Revivalist" by Leah Sottile covered three very different kinds of revivals.

(This is the second year in a row The Inlander has won first place in the Music category.)

2nd Place Health Reporting

"Misdiagnosed" by Nicholas Deshais questioned conventional wisdom concerning multiple sclerosis rates in the area.
