Education to get overhaul? — Gov. Gregoire has suggested consolidating all state education functions under one cabinet-level Secretary of Education — either eliminating the publicly elected Superintendent of Public Instruction, or putting the position under the Secretary. (SR) 

Quantifying domestic violence — Fifty percent of domestic violence victims in Washington since 1997 have been between 21 and 40, and 47 of the fatalities during that time have been people from Spokane County. This, according to a new report by a state coalition. (KXLY)

Rumors "run rampant" in Post Falls — Turns out that the other winner of the $380 million Mega Millions jackpot is from Post Falls, although the winner's identity has not yet been confirmed. (KREM)
