Spokane Police Department fire officer with 25-year-record of misconduct — Detective Jeff Harvey was fired for interfering with a Fish and Wildlife officer, but his personnel file shows he'd disciplined twice for use of force, once for abusing sick leave and multiple times for interpersonal problems with his colleagues. Easily the best story of the week — An intoxicated 23-year-old man in Coeur d'Alene entered a stranger's garage, stripped naked, took a dump on the floor, slipped into the hot tub naked, was confronted with the barrel of the owner's gun, got barricaded in a room of the house, slipped out the window when police arrived (still naked!), ran from police, hid under a tarp, then finally got busted. Parks department needs volunteers in order to stay alive — In a turn of events that would make Ron Swanson groan with Libertarian pleasure, the city's parks department has been so weakened by budget cuts that it's now relying on volunteers to cut the grass, clean the bathrooms, pick up trash, etc. (SR)
