We wrote last week about the astonishingly close race between Richard Rush and Mike Allen in Spokane's second City Council district. As of this writing, the two men are only 98 votes apart — within the margin for an automatic recount.
It wasn't always that way, though. The first batch of results, announced on Election Night, showed Allen, a part-term former councilman, leading the incumbent by 250 votes. As each subsequent batch was released, though, Rush clawed his way up to the current narrow margin.
The map below shows the precinct-by-precinct results in District 2 after the counts on Nov. 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16th, when the count virtually ended. Precincts where Allen leads are shown in green, and those where Rush leads are in that purply red color — the darker the shade, the wider the lead.
