Ionic Burritos Has Closed

Posted By on Fri, Apr 6, 2012 at 10:53 AM

We got a tip the other day from Aaron Fink, a local comic/filmmaker/food fan/friend of The Inlander, that Ionic Burritos, the Tex-Mex stalwart near Gonzaga, had closed up shop.

And sure enough, just two weeks after winning Best Burrito in our annual reader's survey, Ionic is indeed no longer. In its place will soon come another location of the popular Rusty Roofs Burger and Shake Shack.

Owner Melissa Bozarth confirmed that she'd sold the business and that Rusty Roofs will open sometime in the middle of this month. 'Tis a sad day for burrito lovers...but a boon for the burger crowd, right?

Here's the message that greeted Ionic fans when they tried to get a burrito this week. (photo: Aaron Fink)
