The Spokane Symphony Wants You to Know Them

Posted By on Tue, Nov 6, 2012 at 10:51 AM

The musicians of the Spokane Symphony declared a strike last Saturday (forcing the Symphony to cancel its scheduled SuperPops concert) in response to the Symphony Board's proposal to cut musicians' contracts, causing many to lose up to 13.3 percent of their salaries. Annie Matlow and Peter Moye, of the Symphony board, told The Inlander Monday afternoon that this Friday's concert will also be cancelled due to the strike, and have yet to make a determination about Saturday's Video Games Live concert.

In the meantime, the Symphony's musicians are hoping to put a face to their side of the story. The group release a video over the weekend that tells a little bit more about who they are. They're professional musicians, but they also like dark chocolate and local punk rock. Check it out below.
