Watch global warming happen — it's kind of pretty

One the challenges (and frustrations) about writing on the impact of global warming in the Northwest is that it's hard to watch the change actually happen.

Realizing that is one of the difficulties in talking about climate change, one man set out to time-lapse photograph melting glaciers. The results are the documentary Chasing Ice, which is playing at the Magic Lantern in Spokane (at least through Thursday). Watching glaciers melt is actually a lot more beautiful than you'd imagine, and seeing the effort it took to drag and install these cameras near the Arctic Circle (and Montana) is pretty awe-inspiring.
