A third term for President Obama?

If one representative had his way, President Barack Obama would be able to run for a third term.

Rep. Jose Serrano (D-NY) has submitted a resolution to Congress to do away with the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidents to two four-year terms.

Conspiracy theorists, hold your horses. [Especially you Fox News. I'm not sure that many people "expressed shock."] Serrano has submitted his resolution, according to the Utah Pulse, not only during prior years in Obama's term but while George W. Bush was president as well.

But why do we have term limits for president? Here's a quick pro/con they're feeding the kiddies nowadays.

Serrano's office didn't return our call, so this particular mystery continues. Suffice to say, however, the only amendment that's been repealed had to do with our right to get trashed. Also consider the high bar of adding amendments — two-thirds approval from both houses of Congress and then ratification by 38 states — whereas Serrano's proposal probably won't even get a vote, because this guy's in charge of the House (sort of).
