Blue Door Improv Comedy, Blue Door Theatre, in the alley at 122 S. Monroe. The Halloween show, Give Me Something Good to Eat 2: The Nightmare Continues, will creep you out on on Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $7; $5, students. Call: 747-7045.

Poe Night, Gonzaga University, Foley Library, 502 E. Boone Ave. The third annual evening of chilling stories and poems by America's noted opium addict is on Oct. 30 from 7-9 p.m. Call: 323-6546.

Parents and Kids

Halloween Spooktacular, Hastings (Shadle), 1704 W. Wellesley. The fourth annual event features scary stories and a costume contest on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. Call: 327-6008.

Downtown Trick or Treat and Costume Contest, City Park, Northwest Blvd. and Sherman Ave., Coeur d'Alene. Urchins will be scurrying about on Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m. Then they'll run over to the VFW Kids' Party, 406 N. Fourth Street from 5-7 p.m. Call: (208) 667-4040.

Wacky Witch, Children's Corner Bookshop, River Park Square, 714 W. Main. Comedian Phyllis Silver has trouble with spells and brews on Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. Call: 624-4820.

Halloween Carnival, Superstarz, 326 S. Pines. Children can bob for apples, smash pinatas and paint their faces on Oct. 17-31, Mondays through Saturdays from 4-8 p.m. Call: 928-3303.

Nightmare on Jackson Street, 714 W. Jackson. Scott Phillips' 11th annual haunted house will give you the heebie-jeebies on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m.-midnight. Free. Last year, 2,500 people attended. Call: 328-2445.

Halloween Family Fun Night, SCC, Lair, Bldg. 6, 1810 N. Greene St. The Fall Festival offers fun for kids and their families on Oct. 26 from 5:30-7 p.m. Free. Call: 533-7090.

NorthTown Trick or Treat, 4750 N. Division. Wear your costume—Harry Potter-style especially encouraged—to the kids' carnival, costume contest and pre-carved jack-o'-lantern contest on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m. No adults in masks; leave costume weapons at home. Call: 482-0209.

Halloween Symfunnies Spooktacular, The Fox, 1003 W. Sprague. Both Fabio Mechetti and Fabio Costa will be in costume, Kendall Feeney will be dressed up as Princess Leia, and the orchestra will play music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park and other movies on Oct. 27 at 3:15 p.m., with music at 4 p.m. Tickets: $9; $6, youth; $25, families.
