No more 'excited delirium' For years, Spokane police have cited "excited delirium" as one of the causes of Otto Zehm's death in police custody, but a district court judge in the trial against Officer Karl Thompson has ruled the defense can't use that term, nor Zehm's paranoid schizophrenia, nor his separate encounter with police in 1990.
