Monday night music: Cookie Monster metal

Posted By on Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 1:03 PM

Someone at some point realized the uncanny similarity between death metal singers and Cookie Monster. Yes, that Cookie Monster. Observe:

Tonight a couple of bands that really embrace the vocal stylings of the friendly, blue, cookie-loving brute take the stage at the Seaside. Monumental Booking's Ryan Levey snagged EMMURE on an off-day from the Warped Tour and CARNIFEX, on a day off from the Summer Slaughter tour, to play the 'Kan tonight. Carnifex, a deathcore band from San Diego, has packed Spokane venues several times before, according to Levey.

The bands team up with ASHYLUS (Tri-Cities) and locals YUKON THE ARCHER and AGAINST THE SWARM. Show starts at 5 pm. $15 to get in. All-ages.
