Cd'A, Sunday morning. Me: Red hair, blue eyes, You: Impeccable manners and
amazing eyes. I thanked you for holding the door for me. I was too
mesmerized to say anything more. You look like the kind of guy that reads
the Inlander. The only antidote for the spell you've cast upon me is a cup
of coffee or a magical martini and sparkling conversation...join me?

My Sweet Prince, I am sorry that I stopped talking to you. I fell in love
with you and that wasn't part of our agreement. I miss you every day, my
heart feels empty. It aches every time think of you, but I cannot stop
myself. Your face, your beautiful eyes pass through my mind daily. I crave
for your arms around me. It's just a vicious circle that I put myself into.
I should have known that I would eventually fall for you, you are the
greatest man that I have ever met. I just hope you find happiness in your
life. I love you. Your Baroness

To the creep that stole my wallet out of my black Jeep parked in my
driveway next to my yellow house; hey it's bad enough that you came on my
property and took my wallet, money and credit cards, but did you have to
take my Love? It makes me sick to think you would really want The
Beatles "Love" CD. I sure hope you are not a fan, as I would hate to think
I had any similarities to a such despicable person.

Really? Have your children never seen you in a swimsuit? Just as much can
be seen at the beach, not to mention most TV channels, movies and
Victoria's Secret catalogs. Is it just offensive because they are selling
coffee? As my great aunt would say, "Parts is parts; everybody's got 'em".
You may not want to see a pretty girl in small clothes any more than I want
to see Joe plumber's butt crack from too small pants or exposed overhanging
belly in too small a shirt. So what. There are so many actual disturbing
things to be concerned about. How about those meth billboards?

To the dishonest, selfish felon who stole our PartyLite order. The driver
accidentally delivered over $1000 in PartyLite merchandise to your home,
verified by GPS tracking. You've been confronted several times and your
story keeps changing. Do you sleep well at night knowing you took things
that didn't belong to you? Do you understand that I scrimp and save for the
few things I have, and that you stole the one "fun" thing I bought myself
this year, not to mention a dozen other people's merchandise? Yes, our
order was eventually re-sent, but by then, my item had been backordered,
and I'm a little peeved to know it's probably sitting on your coffee table
instead of mine. It's a felony to keep merchandise delivered to you in
error, and I hope with all my heart that you get caught and persecuted.

TONIGHT!

Seattle's Blue Scholars approach hip-hop in a brainy, bookish kind of way. Read our interview with them here and check them out tonight at A Club. It's $15, and all-ages. Starts at 7 pm

Downstairs at Mootsy's, a few locals congregate: Diamond Speedboat, Team Growl, BBBBandits and Casey Rogers. 10 pm. $5. Gotta be 21.

And if you're in the Moscow area, head on over to the Kenworthy Theater where the Horse Thieves (who we wrote about in last week's paper) will host their second CD Release show at 7:30 pm. Bart Budwig opens. $10-$12. All-ages.

SATURDAY!

If you missed the Blue Scholars in Spokane, head southward to check them out at the Belltower in Pullman on Saturday night.

At the Baby Bar/Neato Burrito, honky-tonkers Silver Treason, one of our 2011 Bands to Watch, play alongside the Perennials. Shows there start around 10 pm, and are usually free. All-ages.

Just over the Monroe Street Bridge, at the Hop!, Detroit punks the Koffin Kats will be back to rock the house. They play with locals Reason for Existence, Losing Skin, Mercy Brown, the 45s and Rockin Yotes. 6:30 pm. $13. All-ages.

Downtown at Mootsy's, local purveyor of the very darkest of music, Dan Ocean (another one of our 2011 Bands to Watch), hooks up with Justin East to produce Brothers of Midnite — a creepy DJ project spinning darkwave, drag and witchhouse. $3. 9 pm.

Welcome to the second-ever edition of BACON ALERT — your only local news service passionately devoted to round-the-clock coverage of any and all things bacon in the Inland NW.

Let's get crackling.

Our dear Lady Bacon can be a fickle mistress indeed. She often appears in delicacies only to vanish off the menu after a short, passionate rendezvous with our taste buds ... and our hearts.

Our previous Bacon Alert cataloged her appearance at Sante, where she took the form of bacon ice cream. Today, she has moved on to something much more solid.

Amy Edwards of Amy E's Bakery in Moscow, Id., has made a special order of bacon chocolate bars for the Moscow Food Co-Op after their previous bacon bar was discontinued. Think the sexy saltiness of bacon combined with the rich essence of chocolate. It's arousing, to say the least.

But alas, it seems that like its predecessor, our time with this new bacon love is short.

"I don't know when I'll be making it again, or if I will be [at all]" says Edwards. "I'm too busy with my other candy."

Well. If that's how it's gonna be ...

Stock up now, for the end is nigh. I mean, they're bound to run out at some point. Sigh. Bacon, why must we forever chase after you?

Moscow Food Co-Op • 121 E. 5th St., Moscow, ID • Open daily from 7:30 am-9 pm • moscowfood.coop • 208-882-8537

Do you have something you'd like to share with the class? Send your hot, sizzling bacon tips to tiffanyh@inlander.com.

Free food is ideal. But half-off is still an awesome deal.

To celebrate the reopening of its newly renovated Palm Court Grill, the Davenport Hotel is offering half off lunch, dinner and late-night menus. The deal is being offered at the Peacock Room Lounge and Davenport Lobby, in addition to the Palm Court Grill, through Nov. 23. Happy-hour drinks are also half-price in the bar 4-6 pm daily.

In a press release about the event, Davenport owner Walt Worthy said, “It was important that we lower our menu prices and make it less of a destination for only special occasions, and turn it into a destination for everyday occasions.”

Renovations to the Palm Court Grill include additional seating, a bar in the restaurant, and historic pictures of the Davenport’s rich history.

This deal just began this week and you still have about a month to enjoy it, but it’s sure to draw some crowds, so reservations are probably a good idea. Make them online at palmcourtgrill.com or call 509-789-6848.

This video, which uses adorable cartoon blue whales to depict the floods ravaging Thailand, is meant to explain to the Thai people why the floods are happening and what they can do to — calmly — prepare themselves. Good message, better animation.
