The Washington Secretary of State's Office today released its online and video voter guides.
In the printed guide, found here, are explanations and pro and con arguments for two statewide initiatives, and basic information about five advisory votes that will be on the November ballot. Initiative 517 would establish penalties for interfering with signature gatherers and require that all initiatives in the state that get enough signatures appear on the ballot. (This is an issue that's been debated in Spokane over two local citizen initiatives recently blocked from the ballot. See our story on this here.) Initiative 522 would require labeling of genetically-engineered foods. The advisory votes span taxes and tax credits considered by the Legislature.
If you're a visual person, and you love American flags, here's the video guide:
The election is Nov. 5. Register to vote or check your registration here.
