Happy humpday, people! For some of us, the downhill run toward the weekend means the weekend starts now. To get it going, peruse our event listings or Staff Picks for some fine options.

Don't have time? No worries, we got ya covered. Here are some fine choices of things to do for Wednesday, Dec. 3:

FOOD & DRINK | We love everything about the word "beertopia," making the Spirit of Spokane Beertopia party tonight a must-go. Live music, contests and a slew of local brews, all yours for $5.

LIVE BANDS | Step 1: Read our story about Portland's Wild Ones. Step 2: Go check 'em out at The Bartlett, along with Radiation City and Cathedral Pearls. Here's a taste of what Wild Ones are all about:

PERFORMANCE ARTS | The Resiliency Project helps young people from the West Central and Hillyard areas tell their stories through various artistic pursuits, and tonight at The Bing you can see some amazing work by these young artists.

WORDS | Dr. Dwayne Mack is talking about his new book, Black Spokane: The Civil Rights Struggle in the Inland Northwest, at Gonzaga tonight.
