After the acts announced today, it’s time to start making your Spokane summer concert plans. Finally, some musicians coming through who aren’t country superstars, even if they've all been here before.
First up, Tyler, the Creator comes to Knitting Factory June 30. Then we have Alice in Chains also at the Knitting Factory July 22. Finally, the Beach Boys roll through the Martin Wolson Theater at the Fox, Sept. 30.
Tyler, the Creator was last at the Knitting Factory in May 2013. He also performed at last year’s Sasquatch! No matter where the rapper goes, he puts on a ridiculous show full of danceable beats with questionable, misogynistic lyrics. Fellow Odd Future cohort Taco (named for the best food ever, obviously) opens the show. Tickets are $23.
Rockers Alice in Chains played at the Gorge with Jane’s Addiction back in 2013. Now, they take their set to a far more intimate setting at the Knitting Factory. Tickets are steep for the venue at $53, but for the biggest fans out there it's worth it. The show is also a 21+ event. It's going to get crazy.
The Beach Boys are coming to the Fox — the perfect addition to shows from Gregg Allman and Buddy Guy earlier in the summer. There’s no Brian Wilson in sight for this outing but Mike Love and Bruce Johnston will be there. The show should, no doubt, be a fun, surf-rocking time. The all-ages event starts at $52.
