To the whining parent who "thanked" District 81 Schools for "shoving your school calender down our throats," perhaps you should do your homework before publicly ranting about the way schools are operated. They're not the best example of how an organization should be run, but they are not a daycare either, as you seem to imply.  You really have proven that to some parents, the public schools are nothing more than a dumping ground for your kids. Also, extra unused snowdays within the school year are NOT "vacation days for staff."  There is a set amount of instructional days every year, no matter how they are spread apart...Genius.
