My two cents on tips. My friend is a bartender. She told me if people would
tip in cash she wouldn't have to claim it all like she does when customers
use their credit cards. Knowing this I paid my bill with my credit card and
tipped in cash. Well, my friend the bartender, she looked at five dollars
and publicly announced is that all your leaving for a tip. People stared at
me like I was the bad guy. For Christ sake, here is a dollar and eighty
three cents more to bring it up to the suggested amount that you probably
won't claim anyway. You work harder and give more service and time pulling
beer for lower tabs and get smaller tips. I now maybe just maybe will tip
on my credit card for the quality of service I think is fair. Screw that 12
to 18% That time is over.
