Troubled mineIn another accident at the Lucky Friday mine, seven miners were rescued after a rock burst. For now, the mine has been closed, pending investigation. (KREM)

Chief departure -- Nancy Stowell, Superintendent of Spokane Public Schools, announced at last night’s school board meeting that she was stepping down. (SR)

Bye Bye, Jensen-Byrdie -- Jensen-Byrd, the 102-year-old building near the Washington State University Spokane campus, will be torn down by its buyers in order to build student housing. (SR)
