If you're not headed to NorthTown or Coeur d'Alene tonight to catch This American Life on the big screen, you might consider heading to the Bing to see BeauSoleil, pretty much the greatest Cajun band in the country. Led by Michael and David Doucet, the band has been playing shuffling, stomping, upbeat Cajun music since 1976 and has won two Grammys for the obscure genre. Regularly featured on A Prairie Home Companion, this is classic good-time music.
Here's a video from their latest, 2009's Alligator Purse.
The show, which is a benefit for Spokane Public Radio, starts at 7:30. Tickets are $29-$37. See the Bing's site for more info.
