Wild children of literature, metal and folk-rock all over Spokane Tuesday

We have a bevy of excellent opportunities for you to get out and about in the community in our event listings and Staff Picks

If you need a little more guidance, here are some highlights for Tuesday, Feb. 10: 

WORDS | Shawn Vestal, Spokesman columnist and winner of the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for his short story collection Godforsaken Idaho, will be doing a reading at Shadle Library Tuesday night at 6:30 pm. 

LIVE BANDS | Otep is one of the few bands in the male-dominated metal scene to actually feature a female leader in singer Otep Shamaya. The band headlines a show at Big Dipper that features other hard-hitting acts Terror Universal, Thira and Thirion X. Here's a taste of Otep: 

LIVE BANDS | Over at The Bartlett, a mighty fine show comes through Tuesday featuring Texas folk-rocker Wild Child and Utah's Desert Noises. Here's a taste of Wild Child:
