SPD Officer Chris McMurtrey

Who snitched?!
Spokane Police Chief Craig Meidl called the profane behavior of SPD Officer Chris McMurtrey "the most atrocious demeanor I've seen in my career." Trading insults, McMurtrey called a suspect a "dumb shit," a "little f—-ing bitch" and a "punk."

The department spent four months scanning email records and printer logs and interviewed eight officers — not investigating McMurtrey, but rather, trying to find out who told the public about the interaction. The leaked information was a matter of public record. The leaker was never found, despite the time spent on the investigation. But perhaps a message had been sent to whoever might air the police department's dirty laundry in the future.

By popular demand, a town hall meeting
After months of demands, 5th District Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers gave the public what they wanted last night: A full-scale, legit, raucous town hall meeting. Several audience members appeared to be shocked and horrified to learn that one of the top politicians in the Republican Party supports the Republican President. (Spokesman-Review)

Is there no greater American patriot than Vladimir Putin?

Russian President Vladimir Putin, angry about American sanctions imposed by Congress, ejected 775 American diplomatic staff from the American embassy in Russia. That just shows how much Putin cares, Trump says. “I want to thank him because we're trying to cut down our payroll, and as far as I'm concerned I'm very thankful that he let go a large number of people because now we have a smaller payroll.” (Washington Post)

Should we have been down with TPP?

Both Trump and Hillary Clinton opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal. But the choice to pull out of the deal is already beginning to hurt American exporters, as other countries start to undercut the U.S. (Politico)
