Kendrick says when he signed on with the Browne's Addition bar back in December (after his home base, Caterina Winery, axed regular music offerings), it was his understanding that Sunset Junction was undergoing an image overhaul. He'd book shows there, and the young, captive audience of Browne's Addition would come there.

"Once changes started to occur, I don’t think they liked it too much," he says, adding that the positive aspects of Sunset Junction were quickly outweighed by a list of negatives. But more than anything, Kendrick felt caught in the middle between the ongoing squabbles between Sunset Junction and the Swamp Tavern.

So Kendrick is happy to move on:

"They were just the most difficult people I’ve ever had to work with," he says. "They just weren’t willing to change, which I was told in the beginning that they were open to ideas. They’re just stuck in their ways."

For the first time, Platform Booking won't have a center of operations (Kendrick previously housed booking operations at Rock Coffee and Caterina Winery) — but he's not worried. Kendrick plans to book on a per-show basis, saying that the owners of Mootsy's, the A Club, Empyrean and Nyne are all open to seeing Kendrick book shows at their venues.

Kendrick also says he'll work with Dale Strom (formerly of RAWK) on bringing larger shows to Spokane.
