Sixth-graders do Arcade Fire

Maybe I’m just feeling sentimental on this rainy Monday, but this video of the sixth-grade class at the Oaks school in Los Angeles playing Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” back in February got me a little choked up just now.

Afterward, a father of one of the students made this follow-up video, in which the original video gets screened, and the school receives a signed poster and a letter from the Canadian indie juggernaut. (Check out the kid at about 3:55, who’s so excited he’s weeping.)
