“This is rad” a young man says, as he passes by Bowl’z Bitez and Spiritz on the corner of Washington and Riverside. Rad pretty much sums up this new lounge which was recently gutted and designed by locals Aron Larson and Jake Miller inside the historic Paulsen Center.
Longtime friends, and now business partners, Larson and Miller have been in the restaurant business more than 20 years. The duo said they wanted to create a versatile atmosphere where everyone can feel welcome.
“It’s our way of giving back to the community,” Larson says. The theme for the lounge was inspired by glass bowl-shaped dishware, which will be used for all food and drinks.
The menu, created from scratch, will feature sandwiches, soups, salads,
steaks, and vegetable options for under $10. The full bar and food menu
is open daily from 11:30 am-2 am (limited food items from 10 pm-2 am). Happy hour prices are served Monday through Saturday from 4 pm to 7 pm and 10 pm to close, and
all day Sunday. Miller says the ultimate goals is to create a business
that brings “a big city feel to a small town.”
