College Football Cheat Sheet

Posted By on Fri, Sep 7, 2012 at 11:17 AM

Labor Day has come and gone. Your kids (if you own kids, that is) are in school. Your neighbor has removed his boat from his front lawn.

This means that we’ve officially entered into the real, actual, for-serious-this-time football season. Thus, it’s perfectly acceptable if you don’t put on proper pants or leave the house at all tomorrow. College football is a priority. We understand.

Eastern Washington at Washington State

Noon, Saturday

Pac-12 Network

What was originally planned to be an easy victory to christen the newly renovated Martin Stadium, is going to be a little more than that for Mike Leach and his gang of pirate Cougars. EWU is coming off a convincing thumping of Idaho last week while WSU failed to score a touchdown at BYU. Could EWU beat two FBS schools in consecutive weeks? It’s a long shot, but don’t expect this game to turn into a blowout.

Idaho at Bowling Green

4 pm, Saturday

ESPN3.com

Poor, poor Idaho. No one wants them in their conference next year, they just lost to an FCS school and now they have to go to Ohio and play a Bowling Green squad that held it’s own against Florida last week. These guys need a hug.

Washington at #3 LSU

4 pm, Saturday

ESPN

Yikes. Currently, the Huskies are slated to play three top-five teams over the course of the next five weeks. First up, #3 LSU down in Baton Rouge. Again, Yikes.

Whitworth at Whittier

1pm, Saturday

Live stats and audio at whitworthpirates.com

After beating St. Scholastica (that’s a school in Minnesota, not a Catholic robot as you might have mistakenly assumed) last weekend, the Pirates head down to California to face Whittier. Fun fact: Richard Nixon graduated from Whittier.
