Sen. Patty Murray enjoyed the Daily Show segment on the budget deal

Congress announced a breakthrough this week with a possible compromise on the federal budget, led by Rep. Paul Ryan and Washington’s Sen. Patty Murray. The Daily Show reacted with a segment in which Jon Stewart called Murray and Ryan a “life-size bar graph of the fiscal distance between the parties,” and Murray apparently found it pretty funny. Murray and Ryan — chairs of the Senate Budget Committee and House Budget Committee, respectively — also sat down together to discuss the plan with Meet the Press. The extended interview will air Sunday, but here are some early excerpts.
