Monday, Jan. 18

COMMUNITY | It's time for the annual MLK Day parade, rally and resource fair, starting at 10 am at the Spokane Convention Center. 

FILM | The Garland Theater's screening last week of David Bowie sci-fi vehicle Labyrinth sold out so fast that they're having an encore presentation Monday at 5 pm. Here's a look at the film: 

COMMUNITY | If you're interested in the philosophical differences between local mainstream Republicans and the Tea Party sorts led by Rep. Matt Shea, you might be into checking out the Live Town Hall Meeting with Sheriff Ozzie, where Spokane County's sheriff will discuss threats from home-grown terrorism. 

Tuesday, Jan. 19

WORDS | Spark in Kendall Yards is hosting The Voice: Creative Writing Workshop, a free opportunity to work with author Nance Van Winckel. It's open to poets and fiction writers of all levels. 

Wednesday, Jan. 20

WORDS | Author, journalist, critic and commentator Touré will speak at 11:30 am at the SFCC SUB, an event sponsored by the Black Student Union. Should be a great opportunity to hear from a leading voice in black media. 

Thursday, Jan. 21

THEATER | The Spokane Civic Theatre's production of Les Liaisons Dangeruses continues its run. Read our story on the show here

FILM | The 12th Annual Spokane Jewish Cultural Film Festival kicks off Thursday night and runs through the weekend.

BENEFIT | Star Wars: The Gavel Strikes Back offers Star Wars fans a whole new way to geek out. The Air and Space Law Society are hosting a mock trial in which Luke Skywalker is tried for his actions committed while aboard the Death Star.

WORDS | The EWU Visiting Writers series welcomes Lily Hoang to Auntie's. Hoang is the author of four books and was also a guest contributor to this year's Inlander Fiction issue.

Saturday, Jan. 23

THEATER | The Modern Theater's production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons is based on a true tragedy. Watch for a story in the next issue of the Inlander.
