TONIGHT!
After you hit all of the First Friday events, get over to Aclub for the free Baroque Network Space Odyssey Party. It's a one-stop local art event, with a fashion show, vendor booths and music all night by DJ Benjamin Jorgens. The party is all-ages from 5-8:30 pm, and then it's 21-and-over until the wee hours of the night.
Feed the Artist, the Platform Booking-sponsored art and music series, goes on tonight at Far West Billiards, featuring art by four local women (read our story on one of the artists, Cori McWilliams, here) and music by local singer-songwriter Liz Rognes. Check out our profile on her here. Music starts at 7 pm. Free. Gotta be 21.
SATURDAY!
Hayden, Idaho’s Lithium.ID are hardcore punk revivalists, in the vein of Dead Kennedys and early Black Flag. Straight from the band’s MySpace: “DEAD CENTER PUNK ROCK NOT EMO NOT THRASH LEANING TOWARDS HARDCORE! PUNK THE WAY YOU LIKE IT!” Talk about a mission statement. Check them out tomorrow at Carr's Corner (230 S. Washington) with the Fizzlin Dicks. $3. Gotta be 21.
Though it was their contribution to the startlingly popular “Get Low,” by Lil Jon, that propelled them into the American spotlight, the infamous Ying Yang Twins have managed to make a career for themselves in the wake of that recording. Check out their one-liners and trunk rattles tomorrow at the Knitting Factory. 9 pm. All-ages. $20-$25.
