WHAT'S UP TODAY? Trivia challenges, electro-pop and a poetry pro

Just because it's the start of a new week doesn't mean there isn't plenty of good times to be had in and around Spokane. You can check out our complete events listings right here, or peruse the Staff Picks our qualified professionals have carefully culled. But if that's not possible, we're here to help with some suggestions.

Here are the events that caught my eye for Monday, Oct. 20:

MUSIC | The Hop! hosts a whopping four bands on this fine Monday. Headliners Consider Me Dead bring their electro-tinged pop-rock; the show also includes the Paramedic, Catchin Your Clouds and the Persevering Promise. Here's a taste of Consider Me Dead:

TRIVIA | Consider yourself master of the mundane and utterly trivial? Prove it. There are plenty of trivia nights to choose from — including a Monday night session at the cozy Jones Radiator

WORDS
| The WSU Visiting Writer Series welcomes Brenda Hillman (right) to Pullman for a public reading and discussion of the poet, teacher and activist's Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire, winner of the 2014 Griffin Poetry Prize and 2014 Northern California Book Award for Poetry.
