WHAT'S UP TODAY? Cage matches, folk tunes and funny people

There's a seemingly endless array of awesome event listings on the Inlander website, as well as Staff Picks chosen by our professionals here in the office, but if you don't have time to peruse them yourself, we're here to help. 

Here are some highlights for Thursday, Nov. 13: 

COMEDY | The Seattle International Comedy Competition involves more than 30 comics performing in cities throughout the region for a chance to hit the finals and win $15,000 in cash later this month in Jet City. Tonight, you can catch some of the funniest comics in the Northwest performing together at the Bing

MUSIC | The husband-and-wife duo Birds of Chicago are road warriors, touring for months on end, even with a newborn in tow, to bring their brand of Americana, soul and rock to the masses. The Bartlett should prove an ideal outlet for their sound tonight; the Rustics open the show. Here's a taste of Birds of Chicago: 


MUSIC | In Sandpoint, one of the towering figures of modern folk is taking the stage tonight at the Panida Theater. If you've never seen Greg Brown regale a crowd with his excellent tunes and stellar stories, consider him a must-see before you die. Or before he does. Either way—you get the point. Here's a sample: 


SPORTS | If MMA is your thing, head to the Coeur d'Alene Casino for "King of the Cage," featuring multiple bouts starting at 7:30 pm.
